BORDIER APPOINTS "RUSSIAN BANKER" AS PARTNER

Swiss private bank Bordier increased its group of limited partners to three, adding a banker with years of experience in the business with rich clients from Eastern Europe.

Bordier & Cie, the Geneva-based private bank, appointed Patrice Lagnaux as its third limited partner, effective June 30, 2017. His fellow partners are Gaétan Bordier and Pierre Poncet, the bank said in a statement today.

Grégoire Bordier, Evrard Bordier and Michel Juvet remain the partners with unlimited personal liability. Bordier is one of only five remaining «proper» private banks, where partners are liable. The others are E. Gutzwiller & Cie Banquiers, Mourgue d’Algue & Cie, Rahn+Bodmer Co and Reichmuth & Co.

Lagnaux, 55, started working for the bank in 2003. He is head of a team of 13 taking care of customers from Eastern Europe. As such, Lagnaux has an important role in making the Zurich a thriving business, according to the statement.

A lawyer by profession, Lagnaux initially worked for Swiss Bank Corp. in Geneva and New York. Later he joined Pictet, before moving to Zurich to work as a «Russian banker» at UBS.
