Structured products: FINMA recognises the revised guidelines of the Swiss Bankers Association's and the Swiss Structured Products Association (SSPA) as a minimum standard

The Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA recognises the industry guidelines on structured products as a minimum standard. The guidelines on structured products which had initially been issued by the Swiss Bankers Association's (SBA) have now been revised in collaboration with the Swiss Structured Products Association (SSPA).

The "Guidelines on informing investors about structured products" were issued in July 2007. In light of the developments relating to structured products and the changes to the legal principles following the revision of the Collective Investment Schemes Act (CISA) and the Collective Investment Schemes Ordinance (CISO) as of 1 March 2013, both the Swiss Bankers Association (SBA) and the Swiss Structured Products Association (SSPA) decided to revise those guidelines, harmonising and issuing them jointly. The guidelines, which will come into force on 1 March 2015 and contain transitional provisions, have been recognised by FINMA as a minimum standard.

The FAQs on structured products have thus been updated and are available on the FINMA website.
